RULES OF THE POSTER MAKING AND ESSAY WRITING CONTESTS

    *GENERAL RULE: Regional Councils indicate where and how the entries for the contests                                  are to be sent

     A.     POSTER-MAKING CONTEST

1.         The contest is open to all high school students of public and private schools nationwide.

2.         The poster should be a visualization of the 2012 National Library And Information Services Month  Theme:  “ LIBRARIES:  EFFECTS ON SOCIETY”                                             

3.         Use white illustration board (15” x 20”) in size.

4.         Use any medium (craypas, water color, crayon, pentel, pen, etc.)

    5.  The entry should be an original work and a certification to this effect from                                                 the principal must be submitted together with the contestant’s name.

    6.   The contestant’s name and school must be written on a separate sheet of                                         paper and stapled or attached at the back of the entry.

            7.         All entries will become the property of PLAI.

            8.         Deadline for submission of entries is on October 15, 2012

9.         The criteria for judging will be as follows:
                       
Poster Making Contest

                        a.  Originality                                      -           35%
                        b.  Pictorial design and composition   -           15%
                        c.  Technique                                       -           15%
                        d.  Relevance to the theme                 -           35%
TOTAL -------------------          100%

  1. Essay Writing Contest
1.      The contest is open to all high school students of public and private schools nationwide.

2.      The essay should be a visualization of the 2012 National Library And Information Services Month  Theme:  “LIBRARIES:  EFFECTS ON SOCIETY”

3.      The essay should have 300 words only.

4.      Entries should be encoded using regular short bond paper with 12 point font size and times new roman font style.

5.      The entry should be an original work and a certification to this effect from the principal must be submitted together with the contestant’s name.

6.      The contestant’s name and school must be written on a separate sheet of paper and stapled or attached at the back of the entry.

7.       All entries will become the property of PLAI.

            8.    Deadline for submission of entries is on October 15, 2012

9.       The criteria for judging will be as follows:

a. Organization                                    -           35%
b. Content                                           -           35%
c. Mechanics                                       -           30%
TOTAL -------------------       100%
